At least once a week throughout the course of 2022, Matthew Burgess has shared insights in relation to business model iterations, the future of the professions, time billing and many other insights and observations.

The Trashing the Timesheet debate v Fixed Pricing continues to rage for many.

The evidence suggests however these subscription platforms are where it is at for the winning professional service firms.

In this webinar we will explore what it is like to be part of a ‘members only’ law firm, including exploring:

  • Some background on the journey from time recording, to fixed pricing to value pricing
  • how we learnt (the hard way) that technology is only ever an enabler
  • following the way of Apple (… and stealing from other industries)
  • unbundling the subscription services model for professional service firms

Many specialist advisers have business plans that consist of one word - ‘trusts’.

A significant reason for this is the myriad of seemingly never-ending problems with trust deeds.

In the lead up to another 30 June, this webinar will explore numerous trust ‘horror’ stories that View has helped resolve – all shared with the aim of helping avoid similar problems arising in the future.

Every year since 2017 View’s ‘Trust Horror Stories’ webinars have been one of our most popular events, the 2022 webinar is entirely new content, sourced from the last 12 months.

Learn from a range of case studies, including:

… but what if now I don’t want it to be a hybrid trust

Are 99 year perpetuity periods a problem - that’s less than 100 years (?)

Famous last words: ‘backdating trust deeds is fine’

When the sole trustee, appointor and guardian … is not a beneficiary

‘I own nothing’ … but for 100% of the shares in the trustee company …

At least statistically, blended families are an issue in at least every second estate plan.

And, at least in theory, there are no particularly unique issues from an estate planning perspective that need to be considered in a blended family situation, as compared to any other estate planning exercise.

In saying this however, there are a number of strategies that have been developed that arguably are rarely relevant, unless there is a blended family situation.

Learn about 13 strategies in this webinar, including:

  • Siloed trusts
  • The SaaS model (that is, ‘Superannuation as a Solution’)
  • Parallel trusts
  • In ‘god' we trust
  • Embracing ‘GST’
