At least once a week throughout the course of 2023, Matthew Burgess has shared insights in relation to business model iterations, the future of the professions, time billing and many other insights and observations.

In this special event, Matthew reviews the highs and lows from 2023 in what will be a fast paced, thought-provoking and at times likely controversial one hour webinar.

Best of all, the entry price is at one of Matthew’s favourite price points, namely, free!

At last count there were over 2,150 separate speaking and presentation skills that Matthew Burgess of View has studied and leveraged.

This webinar will provide a modern day version of the Pareto Principle (aka the 80-20 rule, that is 80% of a result comes from 20% of the input).

The modern day iteration being that it is in many situations more like a 99-1 rule; not 80-20.  That is 99% of a result can be sourced from merely 1% of the input.

This webinar will focus on the key foundational speaking strategies to help you and your team create radically disproportionate improvements in all forms of communication, including:

  • A ‘go to’ structure for every presentation, of any description.
  • Overview of the key speaking strategies.
  • A deeper dive into critical speaking skills (being the 1% that are likely to be the most impactful).
  • Further learning guidance.

In 2023, perhaps more than any other year recently, the appropriateness of various trust structures is in sharp focus.

With the only certainty seemingly change, the concept of 'designer trusts' is arguably on trend for many specialist advisers.

Using stories and case study examples, this webinar will explore a range of issues in relation to all key forms of designer trusts, including:

  1. leading cases
  2. trust law rules
  3. tax risks
  4. stamp duty exposures
  5. commercial ramifications

Many observers are predicting that the changes to the professional services industries over the next 3 years will be unprecedented.

A ‘perfect storm’ across issues such as digital disruption, de-leveraging and new entrants mean that the only certainty will be change.

The key question for every professional is – what do we do?

This case study based webinar will provide practical and actionable ideas learnt by View (often the hard way) over the last 36 months, addressing themes including:

  • The impact of digitalisation and technology
  • Why the time is now for distributed solopreneurs and boutique firms

Many specialist advisers have business plans that consist of one word - ‘trusts’.

A significant reason for this is the myriad of seemingly never ending problems with trust deeds.

In the lead up to another 30 June, this webinar will explore numerous trust ‘horror’ stories that View has helped resolve – all shared with the aim of helping avoid similar problems arising in the future.

Every year since 2017 View’s ‘Trust Horror Stories’ webinars have been one of our most popular events, the 2023 webinar is entirely new content, sourced from the last 12 months.

Learn from a range of case studies, including:

  1. But 2010 isn’t that long ago, is it (?)
  2. Non-bare bare trusts and unstamped trust declarations
  3. 1x lost codicil, 2x court application, 3x testamentary trust
  4. When 12 trusts are barely enough
  5. Trust succession on incapacity – does it matter?

At least statistically, blended families are an issue in at least every second estate plan.

And, at least in theory, there are no particularly unique issues from an estate planning perspective that need to be considered in a blended family situation, as compared to any other estate planning exercise.

In saying this however, there are a number of strategies that have been developed that arguably are rarely relevant, unless there is a blended family situation.

Following the success of last year’s event, in 2023 learn about 14 further strategies in this webinar, including:

  1. Rinehart Rules
  2. Creating a Never Ending Story
  3. The Warren Buffett Way
  4. Ruling from the grave
  5. There’s a Coopers for that
